SSOSA PRESIDENT ELECT, COMR. SAMSON ETTA, PROMISED INCLUSIVE GOVERNANCE, AS HE THANKED SOSSITE FOR ELECTING HIM AND OTHER EXECUTIVES, 2023.

GREAT SOSSAITES!!!
A WARM APPRECIATION.

Comr. Etta Samson O.

In exact words of Comr. Samson Etta, “All Protocol Respectfully observed!
I am most profoundly grateful to Almighty God for His accorded victory unto me during the just concluded SOSSA’s elections.

Posterity will denounced me if I failed to acknowledge and appreciate the step aside President, Electoral College, Candidates, departmental Presidents, Stakeholders, and Students who emerged to make that day a SUCCESS.

Permit me to use this medium to specially appreciate my Opponent, Comr. Marvellous Ekoro, for his display of competence, high esteem morality and understanding during and after the elections.

Indeed, I must confess that the alarming victory of democracy in SOSSA today, is the achievement of all the distinguished departments in our prestigious Faculty.

Sometimes life presents us with beautiful moments, But it also brings its fair share of challenges. We all encounter hardships that test our resilience. It may be personal setbacks, professional roadblocks, or unexpected twists.
But always be rest assured that victory comes to those that believe.

2023 SOSSA ELECTIONS was ‘a clash of the Titans’…

I must attest to the fact that the election was dreadful but what kept the hope of winning around and abound was the courageous lyrics of our respective supporter in an aluta chant titled; ‘solidarity forever’ and their wise saying, ‘don’t be afraid of the storms when you are learning how to sail your ship’.

Through this wisdom shared, I discovered that I wasn’t alone in the struggle.

Those that where for me, gave me hope and sense of belonging and those against me, helped me to discover my weaknesses and setbacks.

Furthermore, since it’s through collective efforts that I and others emerged as SOSSA’s Executives elect, I pledge that my administration will never be administered by a monopolize knowledge or ideology but democratic in nature.

You are to experience democracy at it peak.
Government of the people, for the people and by the people according to Abraham Lincoln.

Nevertheless, I, on behalf of the executives elect, promise to implement our obligations in accordance to the Association’s regulating Principles, for the betterment of the students and by the grace of God, to leave a remarkable legacy that will crest an inscription of good governance ever in SOSSA Unical chapter.

Moreso, inasmuch as separation of power exist in this government, division of labour and checked and balances will never be undermined.

Conclusively, if all hands will be on deck, “CUSERA, SERA.”(What have to be done, must be done).

Once again thank you for finding us worthy to pilot the affairs of SOSSA Unical chapter.

Am so sorry this is coming late,my intentions was to visit the motherless home to complete my joy which i have done.

This rare privilege shall be remembered in the sands of time.
ALUTA CONTINUA
VICTORIA ACERTA!!!”

RT. HON. HILARY BISONG: THE QUINTESSENTIAL LAW MAKER PAR EXCELLENCE. (Barr. Hilary Nyiam Bisong)

By Barr. Hilary Nyiam Bisong.

The Latin word “quintessential,” means, the best, or ultimate level of something. For example, “Hilary is the quintessential law maker”, meaning, Hilary is the highest and/or the best law maker. True to it, Rt. Hon. Hilary Bisong is a quintessential law maker par excellence. As a member of the State House of Assembly representing Boki II, a third term and high ranking member, he has exhibited unique set of characteristics and qualities. He has fulfilled the duties and responsibilities of his office as honourable member. He possess a range of skills, knowledge, and personal qualities.

Rt. Hon. Hilary Bisong has a deep understanding of legislative procedure and rules. This includes, knowledge of the procedures and practices of the Cross River House of Assembly (CRHA) as well as an understanding of the constitutional and legal framework within which the legislature operates. Rt. Hon. Hilary Bisong has comprehensive knowledge of the history and traditions of the state institutions. He has a B.Sc. and Master degrees in Geology, another Master’s degree in Elections and Party Politics and a Ph.D (in view) in Elections and Party Politics. He has demonstrated this knowledge in a practical manner to ensure the smooth running of the State House of Assembly in the various positions he has held. He is a recipient of many national and international award. Record has it that, this young and vibrant law maker has the highest number of bills and motions since the inception of the Cross River House of Assembly. I speak on my honour as one who has toured 80-90% of the communities in Boki II that, Rt. Hon. Hilary Bisong has reached out to many communities within his domain through community development, constituency empowerment, provision of food items and shelter, students scholarship, financial aide, etchetera etchetera. He has also acknowledged that much needs to be done. He is always obliged to one-on-one interaction with his constituents for a deep understanding of the issue (s) whenever the schedules of office permits him. It is not a fanfare to address him as a quintessential law maker and one who is eminently stepping into the big shoes left behind by his kinsmen, late Hon. Dr. (Barr.) M. T. Mbu, snr., (aka, the “Otu-agrinya of Boki” and “the Star of Ogoja”) and the likes. I see into the future that this young and vibrant law maker will someday be crowned, the Otu-agrinya II of Boki nation.

Ekpashi APC Media: WINDING UP VIA OUR APPRECIATION TO THE PEOPLE OF BOKI II STATE CONSTITUENCY.

Effective representation involves listening to the constituents, translating their concerns into workable proposals, and building consensus to implement them. Fellow constituents, as an adhoc media team, we were with you during the campaign tours to renew the social contract you had with Rt. Hon. Hilary Bisong. You took the time to share your ideas, your concerns, and your aspirations and he sincerely appreciated your willingness to discuss what really matters to you. We sincerely thank you for entrusting him yet again with the responsibility of speaking on your behalf as your representative. You have also assigned to yourself, the greater responsibility to provide him with the ideas and feedback he needs to do the job as it should be done.

Our constituency, Boki II has got it challenges, but we can overcome them if we imbibe the canon of sportsmanship, rise above self and ethnic affiliation. With our collective support, Boki II shall once again be a place where people of all ages can count on.

Whether or not you voted for the APC in the last elections, know that the party is dedicated to serving you in pari material with the groundnorm, the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. When we work together, not as APC, PDP, Labour Party, etc but as constituents of Boki II, we can accomplish great things. In the days ahead, Rt. Hon. Hilary Bisong’s highest commitment is to be your voice in the State Legislature so that we can achieve our shared goals. Boki II is one that has been built by our compassion towards each other, our commitment to decency, and our faith in our neighbours. Now is the time for us to be united so that we can genuinely rebuild our economy, rebuild our infrastructure, create jobs, bring better healthcare services to our downtrodden rural masses, ensure that students receives great education, ensure that farming methods are recalibrated for better harvest, ensure lasting peace in the land, etchetera, etchetera.

From this point forward, our struggles, our concerns and our hopes should be collective – one for all and all for one, but we cannot achieve these with litany of electoral litigations, needless propaganda, unverified hearsays, lies, hatred and betrayals. Let’s sheath our sword. Pick up your phone, call the winners and congratulate them. The future is bright. Let’s get ready and get excited to work together when the new Legislature get down to work with Rt. Hon. Hilary Bisong as our anchor.

God bless Boki II
God bless Boki I
God bless Cross River State.

“As The Curtains Begin To Fall” By Citizen Agba Jalingo.

Cross River State now has a governor-elect, Senator Prince Otu. He will be sworn-in in 68 days time as Ayade will be taking his last honor as our Governor. Like other States, what I want to point out applies to all out going and incoming governors. The only peculiarity with our State Cross River, is the hyper-active rhythm our own Governor has employed in managing his exit-mood emotions.

Yesterday the governor, in two different press releases, fired two of his aides who didn’t support his election. Tony Adah, SA Project Monitoring and SA Political, Peter Okaba, and replaced them with Godwin Orim and Romanus Abua, respectively. And we hear more firings are under way as the emperor continues to rue his election loss. But it’s only 68 days to go. I don’t know what project is on going that anyone wants to monitor.

But it will help in the management of his emotions, as the curtains begin to fall on him, if the Governor can prepare his mind and expect the following:

  1. Activities including visitations by local and international visitors to Cross River will henceforth trend towards Prince Otu’s house than his own.
  2. The media, including his own numerous media aides, will now pay more attention to the activities of the Governor-elect than anything he will be doing.
  3. The governor-elect, including some ‘entitlers’ who are already milling around him must have contacted the State bankers by now with some caution signs and some of the bank managers will start avoiding the Governor’s calls.
  4. Even some security chiefs hitherto loyal, will begin to shy away from the Governor’s calls and subtly resist some of his usual demands.
  5. Plenty of the governor’s aides, close friends and contractors, will now miss his calls and tell him they were in the bathroom or just forgot the phone on the table and were outside.
  6. Plenty aides including personal staff, will now begin to come to work late and the most probable reason is that they passed by the Governor-elect’s house to say hi. But they won’t have to tell the governor or chief of staff that. They will just find another excuse.
  7. If Governor Ayade is getting 100 phone calls a day now, they will begin to decrease to 60, 40, 20, 10, 5, and less everyday as his days in office also begin to wind down. The phones may even not ring some days.
  8. More shocking leaks from Government will now also flow to the media and other interested parties.
  9. Some close aides will miss work even for 48 hours to May 29 and the governor will only see them at the handing over venue and they will have already made excuses knowing they are no longer consequences.
  10. Then he should also cast his mind back and remember it was also the same thing that must have happened around him and between him and his predecessor.

This realization will be the anti-dote for the erratic overdrive that our emperor has accelerated. It wasn’t the fault of the people that they rejected him. It was a function of his inability to perform and his consistent mendacity.

Yours sincerely,
Citizen Agba Jalingo.
